SAP Quality Awards 2025: recognition of Metinvest Digital's transformation of personnel assessment
Metinvest Digital, in partnership with Metinvest Group, has won the SAP Quality Awards 2025 for transforming the performance evaluation process for blue-collar employees.
This year, in the Business Transformation – Functional Transformation category, the jury recognized the SAP SuccessFactors scaling project, which enabled the implementation of an objective quarterly performance evaluation process at the Kametstal enterprise.

Time for strategic change
Before the full-scale war, Metinvest Group already had experience with HR process automation but faced a number of challenges. The existing evaluation system for blue-collar employees:
• Did not take into account the specific criteria relevant to industrial professions
• Often relied on the subjective opinion of the direct manager
• Was conducted only once a year, which was too infrequent for effective feedback and behavior change
• Resulted in low satisfaction among participants
After the invasion began, the challenges intensified. The loss of key assets in Mariupol and Avdiivka, as well as a shortage of specialists due to mobilization and migration, required the HR system to become a tool for retention, motivation, and timely decision-making. Annual evaluations were no longer effective.
A new mechanism was urgently needed — one that would provide fast feedback, increase transparency, and allow employees to clearly understand the connection between their performance and their compensation.
Project implementation
In 2024–2025, the Metinvest Digital technical team completed a full project cycle: from requirement analysis and solution architecture to development, customization, and multi-stage testing. The final step was training the customer’s team to ensure readiness for autonomous work with the new system.
The solution is built on three core pillars:
Technical integration: seamless data exchange and automated process execution without additional configurations.
User interface: mobile access enabling even shop-floor employees without permanent workstations to participate in the evaluation process.
Automated administration: 70% of evaluation criteria are processed automatically, minimizing manual work and eliminating the need for additional oversight.
The efforts of Metinvest Digital and Metinvest Group were highly recognized. Winning the SAP Quality Awards 2025 confirmed that transforming HR processes during wartime is not only possible but essential — and achievable through the synergy of business expertise and advanced digital technologies.
